Job summary

Are you passionate about creating a workplace that is Trauma Informed? If so, we want to hear from you. An exciting new opportunity has arisen to develop and implement a Trauma Informed Care (TIC) training programme across Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System (ICS) and Frimley South ICS. You will work as part of the Trauma Informed Care training team to co-produce and deliver training for staff from a range of professional backgrounds and services. This is an exciting an opportunity to help transform how organisations work for our staff and the people who use services. 

We accept applicants from a range of professional backgrounds if you have experience in developing and delivering training and in working in a relevant health or social care setting. We also accept secondments.

We would love to hear from those who identify as being ethnic minority or having a disability too as otherwise these areas may be unrepresented and go against our principles of being collaborative and including all voices.

Whilst this project is currently funded until 31st March 2023, we are already in discussions about continuing funding.

Main duties of the job

Working alongside members of the multidisciplinary TIC team to:

Co-produce a modular TIC training programme and co-deliver relevant modules to staff within the remit of the project. This may include supporting the development of an e-learning package

Provide high quality, culturally sensitive training on TIC that can be accessed and understood by a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professionals. 

To work with the Senior Clinical TIC Practitioner to evaluate the training programme and report on outcome

Attend relevant training/CPD to keep up to date with relevant literature and amend the training accordingly

Job Overview: To work collaboratively with members of the TIC team and multi-disciplinary cross-organisation colleagues to coproduce a TIC training programme for staff working in health and social care across Surrey & NE Hampshire. Qualifications required

Education to degree level or equivalent

Recognised teaching / coaching / mentoring / practice educator qualification or equivalent experience

Additional training in trauma, TIC, or health / social care (Desirable)

Evidence of continuing professional development

Experience required

Substantive experience (minimum 3 years) working in a relevant organisation e.g. health or social care, or voluntary organisation working with people with mental health or substance misuse difficulties or homeless populations

Strong knowledge of the principles of TIC, the benefits of incorporating these principles into practice, and how to avoid re-traumatisation

Experience of developing training

Experience of teaching and facilitating training, especially to groups and online

Experience of coproduction

Experience of relationship building with professionals from a variety of disciplines and with other organisations

Proficient in all Microsoft office programmes

Experience of evaluating projects and measuring outcomes

Support a Community of Practice to allow sharing of learning and good practice

To work closely with the admin team to oversee the allocation of training places and organise the training

Support advertising of the training, including presenting to teams / organisations where appropriate

Work in collaboration with multi-disciplinary cross-organisation colleagues from across Surrey Heartlands and Frimley ICSs

To work with the Senior Clinical TIC Practitioner to evaluate the training programme and report on outcomes

Attend regular supervision in line with professional and Trust guidance

Link in with other TIC champions and groups across the Trust and ICSs
