Specialist Nurse Day Care
This job is now closed
Job summary
We are delighted to be able to appoint two dynamic Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) to join our Adult Eating Disorders Day Care Service. These are substantive posts with the scope to be offered on a fulltime /1.0 WTE basis. However, we also welcome expressions of interest from those interested in part time hours (minimum of 0.6 WTE). The post will be based at our main service hub at Farnham Road Hospital, Guildford.
The post holders will be joining what are well-established outpatient and day care facilities for working age adults with moderate to severe eating disorders.
The successful applicants will become integral members of the Adult Eating Disorders Day Care team and will provide specialist intensive treatment for adults (18 years +) with moderate to severe eating disorders and co-existing mental health needs. The main responsibilities of the post holders will include contributing to assessments, keywork provision, MDT meetings, handovers, physical health monitoring, risk management, care planning, meal supervision, group co-facilitation, and audit.
While experience of working with people with eating disorders is desirable, we are primarily seeking RMNs with a keen interest in working in the field and a willingness to develop specialist knowledge of eating disorders and their treatment.
Main duties of the job
As such, mentoring, additional supervision and training will be provided to facilitate the post holders transition and skills development where needed.
Depending on experience, we have the flexibility to offer these roles as substantive Band 6 posts or as Band 5 to 6 development posts. If the latter, then the successful applicants would begin on Band 5 with a view to progressing to specialist Band 6 posts within 12-24 months.
If you are interested in learning more about this exciting opportunity, we welcome you to contact the day unit to arrange to be given a tour and for the opportunity to meet informally with what is a small and friendly team. Please also contact Dr Caroline Foster, Consultant Clinical Psychologist or Laura Behroozi, Specialist Nurse (Tel: 01483 448020) if you wish to discuss these posts.
