Job summary
Our highly regarded perinatal mental health service is expanding, and we have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and innovative Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our service in our East locality team. This is a fixed term role for 12 months to cover maternity leave.
The part time role, 22.5 hours, involves providing individual and systemic support to women and their families within the community.
We have excellent training opportunities including opportunities to access specialist training such as EMDR, to develop an area of specialist interest and one’s own style of working. Staff well-being and development are at the heart of our ambitions. We have an active CPD program across the Trust in relation to both clinical and leadership development, as well as a staff resilience hub supporting individuals and teams.
Main duties of the job
The focus will be on delivering formulation based and NICE recommended psychological interventions to women with moderate to severe mental health difficulties who are pregnant or within 24 months of the postnatal period. We offer a range of therapeutic modalities including CBT, EMDR, Systemic Couples therapy, IPT, CFT, and ACT, and this role would be suitable for anyone interested in transgenerational patterns of trauma, attachment and parent and infant mental health.
You will contribute to the supervision, consultation and training of the MDT who consist of highly skilled, and psychologically minded professionals including Psychiatrists, perinatal mental health nurses, social worker, occupational therapist, peer support workers and nursery nurses. We are accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, highlighting the excellent and specialised care provided by the service. Our service aims to provide specialist and early help to parents and babies to help with a range of perinatal mental health issues. We are also involved in shaping trauma informed care in the perinatal period and thinking across wider services.
You will receive regular management and clinical supervision, and reflective practice, and will have support and supervision from the lead psychologist within our well established service. You will be one of a team of three 8a Psychologists working in each of our three teams.
