Job summary
Are you passionate about supporting the lives of young people with suspected neurodevelopmental characteristics? Would you like to be part of a busy and exciting new service specifically in the pathway for ADHD and Autism assessment? If so, please read on.
We are looking for an clinician with experience in this field to support the referral and assessment pathway for young people with suspected ADHD and Autism. There will be opportunities to enhance your current skill base to complete these diagnostic assessments; and if not already trained, there will be opportunities to train as a nurse prescriber to support young people diagnosed with ADHD requiring medication support. The post holder will also use their clinical skill to ensure young people are placed on a diagnostic pathway correctly and at the right time.
Main duties of the job
This will include screening referrals coming into the service and the management of screening tools and exploration of a young person's developmental history.
The post holder will have great communication with others including schools, parents and young people to understand the needs of the young person involved.
It is imperative that you will have organisational skills to coordinate the referral, pulling a variety of information together to formulate the most appropriate next step.
Time will also be given for you to enhance your clinical skills and be able to conduct diagnostic assessments or supporting the management of medication as a trained/ trainee nurse prescriber.
