Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 6 month, fixed term, full-time band 6 Speech and Language Therapist in the East Surrey Community Team for People with Learning Disabilities (CTPLD).
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to work within a well-established multi-disciplinary health team. Previous experience of working with people who have a learning disability is essential as is a dysphagia qualification.
Our learning disabilities services provide high quality care within assessment and treatment settings and within community teams. Our Speech and Language Therapists are committed to promoting good communication in a proactive, ethical way. They have a key role in supporting individuals, their support networks and multi-disciplinary colleagues in the implementation of the RCSLT five good communication standards.
The successful candidate will be joining a supportive team of equally enthusiastic and innovative Speech & Language Therapists. The post holder will benefit from a robust supervision and appraisal programme for the term of the contract.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work with adults with a Learning Disability in the community to support communication needs and eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties.
The post holder will be covering for maternity leave for a 6 month period.
Travel is required for this post so access to a vehicle for work is essential.
