Job summary

The occupational therapy leadership team is committed to an extensive, coordinated CPD programme including a robust supervision structure, care groups and Trust wide training, core competence training, and annual conferences. The occupational therapy service has a clear focus on occupational and neuroscience, and how this can influence and enhance our practice

Our services for people with learning disabilities provide high quality care within the Deacon service assessment and treatment unit, intensive support service, and within community teams for people with learning disabilities.
Main duties of the job
This role is based in the East Surrey Community team for People with Learning Disabilities. We are an enthusiastic and committed multidisciplinary health team. You will be responsible for the occupational therapy delivery leading a Band 6, 5 and occupational therapy apprentice.
Your role will include:
· Providing high quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions to people who access the service and their carers/supporters/family members
· Focusing on individuals occupational functioning, sensory needs and ability to engage in meaningful occupations
· Supporting carers/supporters/family members to develop skills to enable the meaningful engagement of people who access the service
· Contributing to the overall OT service development within the division and across the trust,
· Being up to date and delivering evidence-based interventions
· Provide effective leadership, supervision, and guidance to the occupational therapists in the CTPLD and ISS
· Being an active member of the senior clinical leadership team in East Surrey CTPLD and divisional therapies team
The OT leadership team is part of the wider divisional and Trust leadership for with a remit to ensure high quality, cost effective and person-centered interventions is key to all we do.
