Job summary
We are looking a full-time in-house Solicitor to work as part of the Trust Quality Team at Ashford & St. Peters Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is an interesting, varied, and high-profile post with a degree of autonomy requiring the ability to motivate, provide high quality legal advice, build strong external relationships and support staff at all levels. You will be leading a friendly, in-house paralegal and administrative team.
Main duties of the job
You will be accountable to the Associate Director of Quality and responsible for a variety of NHS and healthcare related work including, healthcare advisory work, clinical and non clinical claims, and inquests and working with our NHSR appointed Panel Solicitors on behalf of the Trust.

The Trusts lead for management of inquests and claims working autonomously within occupational policies and regulations.
To provide the advocacy services at inquests and pre-inquest reviews.
To provide legal advice and support to the staff during the inquest process.
To provide specialist training to Trust staff on all aspects of inquests from reporting deaths to attending inquests.
Responsible for the co-ordination and management of inquests ensuring positive engagement with colleagues to ensure timely management and identification/escalation of actions to address any short fall in meeting standards.
