An
exciting opportunity to either take on your first operational management role
or to further your career in operations. Youll provide leadership to our admin
and clerical teams within the service, operational metric i.e., 18 weeks, DM01
and cancer. Youll be joining a service in its infancy of expansion, and this
will bring opportunity to discovery and expand your experiences in writing business cases. Youll work closely alongside our
clinical lead to develop the service with innovative tools that will develop
our patient care, outcomes and experience.
Support the flow of ED patients and inpatients.
Main duties of the job
To provide timely, effective, proactive operational management support to the specialty department within their division. Carrying our daily PTL management meetings with your team to support the reduction of long waiting patients. From these meetings you will unblock and act as the divisional conduit to finding and developing solutions
Supporting the governance processes and governance meetings, working in partnership with our Clinical Lead and lead Nursing colleagues
Assisting the lead clinicians and senior managers as required and ensuring that the department functions in a responsive, innovative way, and provides the highest possible clinical and performance standards
To support the ADO ensuring that all performance and quality targets are achieved. Developing and implanting lasting solutions to challenges in conjunction with clinical and managerial colleagues. To function as a key member of the management team, taking full responsibility for actions and for keeping other team members fully informed
Full understanding of the Departments performance, with the ability to provide regular performance and operational reports for both internal and external distribution. The post holder will oversee and support the management of a team of administrative staff across the Department. To work closely with the Lead Nurse/Matron and the Divisional Director for specialty department to ensure that the department is fully compliant with statutory national and local targets

Line manages designated staff and supports them in their line management of all senior administrative / clinical office staff in line with the Trusts HR policies and procedures, providing annual appraisal and PDP planning.
Ensure responsibilities and objectives for direct reports are clearly defined, job descriptions are up to date and development plans are in place and that individuals are well supported.
In partnership with HR, develop local strategies for the recruitment and retention of staff. Participate in recruitment processes and ensure that effective induction programmes are in place.
Responsible for ensuring adequate records are kept of all study leave, annual leave and sickness for all Consultants and Career Grade staff.
