Job summary
As a Digital Programme Manager, you will join us at an
exciting time as we work to embed and evolve Surrey Safe Care, our electronic
patient record system (Cerner), and launch a varied range of projects and system
upgrades across our other clinical and non-clinical systems.
We are looking for two enthusiastic individuals to lead
the implementation of our ongoing Digital Programme. Successful candidates will
have extensive and proven experience in the delivery of strategic digital
programmes, and have a passion and commitment to support better, safe, and more
efficient patient care.
Planning and influencing skills will be key to this role,
along with the ability to deal with the unexpected being able to manage a
varied portfolio of work in a fast-paced team. You will be responsible for
leading, coaching, and mentoring project managers in the team, and to build
strong working relations with colleagues across the organisation.
Successful candidates will have an enthusiastic,
proactive attitude, and will be able to demonstrate successful delivery of digital
projects and programmes across complex and challenging environments.

Main duties of the job
- The planning, delivery and organisation of complex
technical projects applying suitable controls e.g., MSP/PRINCE 2/Agile
methodology, managing conflicting demands and priorities. Advising on and
implementing appropriate mitigating and corrective actions or adjustments to
project plans
- Maintaining an overview of all programmes, projects
and workstreams performance against plans, identifying risks, issues,
dependencies between projects and workstreams.
- Managing a comprehensive suite of programme and
project management documentation and reports for projects and work streams,
ensuring that all stakeholders use an agreed set of processes and systems to
monitor performance against actions, milestones, and timescale.
- Managing budgets, resources, timescales, and costs
and providing regular financial analysis reports to the programme and project
boards including highlight and exception reports.
- Using advanced IT skills to analyse complex data
and information for reporting and to inform project decisions.
- Make judgements on resource allocation and staff
activity from a range of options, and make judgements on difficult situations,
ensuring a plan for resolution is agreed.
- Establishing credibility and confidence amongst
clinicians, managers, and other stakeholders, at all levels within and external
to the Trust.
- Articulating a clear vision for change, encouraging
collaborative working and motivating staff where there may be resistance to
change.

the overall delivery of the Trusts Digital Strategy.
- The post holder
will have a deputising role to the Head of Digital Delivery, managing a
portfolio of projects, and providing leadership and guidance to the overall
Digital Programme Team (Projects, Training, Governance).
- The post holder
will be responsible for the management of successful delivery of the Digital
Programme, and all constitute projects, and will be responsible for managing
the whole lifecycle of digital projects, including procurement and risk.
Ensuring projects are delivered to budget, within agreed timescales and within
constraints laid down by Programme and Project Boards.

and focus for the project and pro-actively communicate with key stakeholders on
the development and delivery of the project, ensuring that they are managed in
line with best practice standards and that risks are managed, and benefits
realised.

deviation from agreed plans the post holder will be required to inform relevant
committees and stakeholders, managing difficult conversations where
expectations have not been met.
- Working jointly
with colleagues across Digital and Operational Teams, project benefits will be
identified, tracked, benchmarked, and realised. The post holder will
dynamically engage and interact with departmental staff to identify workstream
leads, co-ordinating their project-related activity.
