Band 7 Chief Cardiac Physiologist (Echocardiography)
We are seeking a suitably qualified Cardiac Physiologist to join our team at Ashford and St Peters NHS Foundation Trust. We are a very active department providing a wide range of investigations and are looking to expand our team of multi-skilled Cardiac Physiologists.
The department offers a wide range of invasive and non-invasive investigations. In terms of echocardiography, the department currently offers Transthoracic echocardiography, Transoesophogeal echocardiography, bubble studies, and stress echoes. The successful applicant will be expected to work these services alongside the Echo service lead.
You need to have extensive experience in echocardiography, and will be specialised in this area. You must be a self-motivated, well organised individual with excellent interpersonal skills, and have the ability to prioritise work and use your initiative.
The applicant will be responsible for performing transthoracic echocardiograms, assisting with trans-oesophageal, bubble and stress echo studies, and progressing the department in other, novel aspects of echocardiography and research.
Applicants must be BSE accredited and expected to be able to work cross-site. Applicants should have substantial post qualification experience. BSc in Clinical Physiology/HTEC MPPM (or equivalent) and ILS training.

Main duties of the job
The postholder will
To have and extensive experience in Echocardiography and in the echocardiography service across both hospital sites alongside with the Operations Manager & Principal Cardiac Physiologist and Lead for Echo, whilst working alongside other physiologists to ensure delivery of a quality clinical service.
To be BSE accredited and undertake, supervise, and teach at a high level TTEs
To assist with TOE, Bubble Studies, and Stress Echoes. To eventually perform and join the Physiologist led Bubbles studies and Dobutamine Stress Echoes
To maintain a progressive learning environment and ensure the development of all members of the department.
To provide and partake in 7-day echo service and work weekends on a rotational basis
