Job summary
Provide clinical support, expert care and clinical leadership to support patients with breast cancer at ASPH
To provide expert, comprehensive knowledge and specialist advice, information and psychological support to patients with a diagnosis of breast cancer.
Support the faster diagnosis and improved outcomes for patients with breast cancer.
Positively impact the experience of patients and carers by providing high standards of clinical practice and care as appropriate across the trust.
Support the breast surveillance programme, deliver a Moving Forward educational program.
Deliver specialist nurse led clinics such as high-risk patient surveillance, chemotherapy & hormone therapy side effects.
Main duties of the job
- To promote high standards of specialist care for patients with breast cancer ensuring a quality experience.
- To provide specialist support and care to patients admitted with breast cancer to ASPH throughout their cancer treatment.
- To work as a clinical nurse specialist within the breast cancer nursing team providing facilitation and management of patient with cancer and supporting the patient through treatment.
- To work autonomously to support patients with breast cancer facilitating necessary investigations and providing clinical engagement.
- To be a resource both within the trust and the community for clinical advice and information.
- In liaison with the Clinical Practitioner Educators and Practice Development team to support the professional development of students.
- With the Lead Cancer Nurse contribute to clinical governance within the trust for cancer patients.
- To deliver care in line with National and Alliance guidance and requirements

- Post-basic qualification in cancer or a relevant subject in breast cancer care / management
- Evidence of continued professional development

- Relevant post registration experience at Band 6 or above, in cancer, and /or breast specialty nurse
