Job summary

MDT SUPPORT COORDINATOR

Cancer Services are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join them in supporting the Trust in achieving and sustaining the cancer targets. The post holder will provide support to members of the Cancer Services team working across all tumour sites. The post holder will be required to assist the MDT coordinators in the preparation of documentation for all cancer patients to be presented at MDT meetings. Excellent organisation skills will also be required to ensure that patients are tracked and their progress monitored along their pathway using hospital computerised data and tracking systems.

Main duties of the job

To be fully conversant with patient pathways across site specific tumour groups to ensure that patients are treated equitably, reaching targets for first appointments, diagnostic tests and treatment within relevant times scales.

To liaise with MDT coordinators and across the Trust to monitor the coordination of all elements of the patient pathway. This may include highlighting patient target dates to ensure that investigations are carried out in a timely manner.

To work closely with clinicians, specialist nurses, secretaries and all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) across all specialties to ensure that suspected and diagnosed cancer patients are actively managed through patient pathways.

To ensure that appropriate requests for investigations are managed in a timely fashion.

Full time 37.5 hours fixed term contract for 1 year
