Job summary
Robin Ward is seeking enthusiastic and dynamic Staff Nurses to join our friendly surgical team.
Robin Ward is a 14-bedded surgical ward with 5 trolley spaces within ESAC (Day Case Unit). We provide care to both elective and emergency surgical patients, across a wide range of specialties including:
- Upper Gastrointestinal
- Colorectal
- Breast
- Vascular
- Urology
Previous surgical experience is not essential, as full training and support will be provided.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality pre-operative and post-operative nursing care to surgical patients

Perform wound care and dressings in line with clinical guidelines

Administer medications safely and accurately

Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and documentation

Take daily responsibility for allocated patients, ensuring continuity of care

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the wider healthcare team

Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate individualised programmes of care
Professional Practice and Team Contribution

Work efficiently within a team nursing framework while providing individualised, patient-centred care

Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive and supportive learning environment

Supervise and support junior registered nurses and non-registered staff

Actively participate in service improvement and quality care delivery
Role Overview
This is a varied, challenging, and rewarding role offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to patient care. You will support patients through rehabilitation and recovery following surgery or acute illness, as well as provide holistic, compassionate care to patients at the end of life, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.
