Job summary

Robin Ward is seeking enthusiastic and dynamic Staff Nurses to join our friendly surgical team.

Robin Ward is a 14-bedded surgical ward with 5 trolley spaces within ESAC (Day Case Unit). We provide care to both elective and emergency surgical patients, across a wide range of specialties including:

  • Upper Gastrointestinal
  • Colorectal
  • Breast
  • Vascular
  • Urology

Previous surgical experience is not essential, as full training and support will be provided.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality pre-operative and post-operative nursing care to surgical patients

  • Perform wound care and dressings in line with clinical guidelines

  • Administer medications safely and accurately

  • Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and documentation

  • Take daily responsibility for allocated patients, ensuring continuity of care

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the wider healthcare team

  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate individualised programmes of care

Professional Practice and Team Contribution

  • Work efficiently within a team nursing framework while providing individualised, patient-centred care

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive and supportive learning environment

  • Supervise and support junior registered nurses and non-registered staff

  • Actively participate in service improvement and quality care delivery
