Job summary
The Trauma and Orthopaedic department would like to appoint highly motivated full time Trust Grade Registrar to work at Ashford & St Peters Hospital.
The successful candidate would be expected to participate in research and audit.
We would tailor the post in accordance with the experience of the successful candidate.
Successful candidates would rotate through posts in lower limb arthroplasty, knee, foot and ankle, hand and shoulder and elbow surgery.
Exposure to trauma would be required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be work at both Ashford & St Peters Hospital and will provide a comprehensive Orthopaedic Service to the people of Surrey. The registrar is responsible for working with the Consultant to ensure a high standard of care of patients in their charge and for the proper functioning of the department in which they work.
The post holder will take part in the 1:10 registrar on-call rota at Ashford & St Peters Hospital.
The post holder will be allocated a consultant to work with and will be responsible, with the consultant for providing care to the allocated caseload. This will include provision of outpatient clinics in various locations, provision of emergency trauma services both on the ward and in weekly fracture clinics and undertaking theatre work under the supervision of the consultant.
