Cross Sectional Consultant Radiologist
Applicants are invited to apply for the Cross Sectional Consultant Radiologist post.
This is a new post created due to the imminent opening of the Trust's new Community Diagnostic Centre ( CDC) at Woking Community Hospital. The CDC will include three Ultrasound rooms, CT and MRI.
The Imaging Department is currently based predominantly at two sites, Ashford Hospital and St Peters Hospital Chertsey. The modalities include general radiography, fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound, mammography, Intervention. The MRI service is currently provided by Alliance Medical.
Ashford & St Peters Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a high performing and forward looking NHS Foundation Trust, located in a pleasant area to the south west of London and on the borders of Surrey and Middlesex. Local towns include Woking, Chertsey, Walton-on-Thames, Weybridge, Staines, Bedfont, and Feltham.

Main duties of the job
Cross Sectional Consultant Radiologist
oDeliver Clinical, Educational, Managerial Services of the highest professional standard at Consultant Level to the Department
oWork with existing consultants and the multi-disciplinary team to provide a high quality well-led service for patients of Ashford, St Peter's and Woking, including the diagnosis, investigations, treatment and management of patients, in accordance with Trust policies and practices.
oDeliver Direct Clinical Care to patients, through all parts of the Department assisting clinical decision-making and sharing equally in the workload.
o Be expected to participate in the Consultant evening and weekend rota on a 1:12 basis.
o Engage fully with the care of patients outside the department and provide a prompt opinion on request from consultant colleagues in other specialties.
o Engage with medical, nursing, management and all relevant co-workers in the delivery of department objectives: to provide clinical leadership, improve the patient experience; ensure the highest quality clinical care.
o Participate in the professional training of the staff in the department, both medical and non-medical, and contribute as required to teaching sessions for other hospital staff as well as undergraduate and postgraduate staff, including supervision of junior medical staff. Teaching and training will require verification of teaching certification

Engage fully with the care of patients outside the department and provide a prompt opinion on request from consultant colleagues in other specialties.
