Job summary
We currently have full-time and part-time vacancies for Housekeeping Assistants. The role is to provide an effective and efficient cleaning & food service within the wards and departments. To ensure the highest standards of service at all times.
Main duties of the job
To ensure all aspects of health and safety, food hygiene, COSHH, Infection Control and relevant regulations are strictly adhered to.
To ensure compliance with all aspects of Health and Safety legislation and the correct use of personal protective equipment.
To ensure wards and departments are maintained free from excessive refuse and kept tidy and presentable at all times.
To remove and re-hang curtains, ensuring curtains are correctly bagged and labelled for transport to the Laundry area or disposed of appropriately.
To report all maintenance issues and hazards to your Team Leader or the Housekeeping Supervisor.
To comply with departmental & Trust personal hygiene policy/procedures at all times.
To prepare cutlery, crockery and trays ready for patient meal times, collect, wash and put away all cutlery, crockery and trays after patient meal times.
To wash and replenish all water jugs, clean patient tables after each service and if required during the day.
To maintain the cleanliness of the ward kitchen before, during and after patient meal service.
To serve the patient beverage service including snacks as required and ensure the ward kitchen is clean, items in date and stock rotated.
To monitor/ record refrigerator temperatures and defrost refrigerators as and when required.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Flexibility to adapt to changing service needs when required.
