Job summary

First Steps Day Nursery at St Peters Hospital is looking for a kind, thoughtful, enthusiastic and loyal Assistant Early Years Practitioner (Playscheme) to provide and enhance good quality care to an established and popular workplace day nursery, located within the grounds of St Peters Hospital.

The nursery operates 50 weeks of the year and provides excellent day care for 68 children per day aged between 3 months and 5 years.

We are continually reviewing our practice to enable us to provide a caring and stimulating environment for our children. Each dedicated team member is part of that by being involved with planning activities following The New Early Years Foundation Stage, caring for the children, relating positive feedback to Parent's both verbal and written.

We ask that all applicants have obtained or working towards GCSE A-C grade (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Main duties of the job

As a key worker to a designated group of children be responsible for the documentation of the children's Learning Journeys. Participate in their supervision, enabling them to thrive, by providing a stimulating, caring and learning environment in which children of all ages may develop. Enabling you to provide positive feedback to parents. Develop links with the parents and encourage parental participation within the nursery, being understanding and receptive to the parent's wishes. Offer encouragement when appropriate.

Maintain effective communication, that's relevant with other members of the team, contributing to team briefings and Nursery Staff meetings.
