Job summary
We are looking to appoint to a number of roles to support the development of our brand new dedicated elective centre at Ashford Hospital. This includes the role of Locum Consultant Anaesthetist for a fixed term basis of 12 months.
We are looking for flexible Clinicians who may be interested in working up to 9 DCC session, plus 1 SPA session, to support elective cases based at Ashford Hospital. There will be no on-calls associated with this role, unless desired. There is flexibility in the type and number of sessions to be covered, and general anaesthesia will predominantly be related to General Surgery and Orthopaedic procedures. These posts are aimed at General Anaesthetists with a suitable specialist interest.

Main duties of the job
This role will be based within our Surgical Elective Centre at Ashford Hospital, where the postholder will be required to support with the provision of anaesthesia within the relevant surgical procedures.
The post will form part of the medical team within the elective centre, supporting the development and expansion of this as it progresses.
The main duties of the role will involve:
- delivering clinical, educational and managerial services of the highest professional standard at consultant level.
- Working with existing consultants and the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality well-led services for patients. This includes, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and management of patients where relevant, in accordance with Trust Policies.
- Delivering clinical care to patients, assisting clinical decision making and sharing equally in the workload within the team.

- The ability to provide direct anaesthetic clinical care.
