An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a new team of professionals delivering a brand new Orthopaedic Elective Surgery service at Elective Centre Ashford Surrey (ECAS)
We are looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to join our senior clinical team as a Head of Nursing. You will have proven leadership experience with the energy to support and coach staff to ensure best practice across our service. You will be an exceptional communicator, problem solver and able to build positive and effective relationships. You will lead by example, motivate and empower the team as well as be passionate about staff well-being.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the leadership and operational management of the given services
To provide professional and clinical leadership to staff working within these services at all Trust sites
To significantly contribute to the elective orthopaedic agenda and lead on a number of key projects
To work in collaboration with key partners and stakeholders in the planning and delivery of the elective orthopaedic services at ASPH.
To work in partnership with key external stakeholders to deliver a seamless transition for patients between primary and secondary care.
To establish effective clinical governance through agreed policies and procedures
To gain learning from incidents and complaints to improve services
To involve patients and use patient feedback to improve services
To achieve high staff satisfaction scores and good staff retention rates.
To make an effective contribution to achieving Ashford & St Peter's Trust's strategic objectives and key work programmes.
Provide evidence-based care to the patients
To develop and establish operational models of care that reduces acute admissions and lengths of stay for older people, by arranging the right care in the right area at the right time.
To support with discharge processes to ensure safe discharge for patients
To develop and establish recruitment and retention strategies
