This is an exciting opportunity to join the Imaging team to manage the PACS/ IT systems in the department and support with future business development . You would be involved in any Artificial Intelligence installations and new services.
You would be responsible for a small team in the PACS office plus overall responsibility for the wider admin team. Training would be a key part of this role
Main duties of the job
- Manage the CRIS, PACS and VNA IT systems
- Produce information reports and statistics to ensure the effective running of the Imaging department.
- Responsible for updating CRIS and PACS policy/protocols including contingency planning
- Support and train the Imaging and Trust staff on PACS /CRIS
- Work in conjunction with the Associate Director for Imaging to improve service delivery and service improvement for the benefit of the patient
- Support the Associate Director of Imaging and Clinical Director with the digital IT strategy

- To lead and develop the Imaging Directorate Computerisation and Digital Imaging strategy.
- Manage the Radiology Information System (CRIS), Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) and Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) across the Trust and local community hospitals.
- To assist with the development and delivery of business planning to ensure that the technical equipment within Imaging is the most current, of a high standard and financially appropriate solution for the department.
- To act as liaison with service providers for PACS/RIS upgrades, maintenance schedules and negotiate annual service contracts
- To investigate, evaluate and make recommendations to the Imaging Directorate on radiology equipment procurement specialising in IT and DICOM.
- To develop, implement and continually review System Administration set-up for both CRIS and PACS
- To be involved in the strategic development of PACS RIS as part of the Consortia group.
- To liaise with Primary Care and Independent Sector providers regarding accessibility and integration with PACS/CRIS
- Produce and analyse service data to monitor referral rates and identify changes or likely changes to this practice that may impact on the directorates services. Produce monthly balance score card
