West Surrey Clinical Neurophysiology, which is based at St Peter's Hospital, is a busy department providing a comprehensive range of clinical neurophysiological investigations including routine, sleep and ambulatory EEG; Nerve conduction and EMG; and tri-modality evoked potential studies. It provides services to a number of specialist units, including NICU and ITU patients. Future service developments, including long term EEG monitoring, are in our long-term plans.

The department has a strong culture of continued professional development with opportunities to attend scientific meetings both regionally and nationally. Main duties of the job

We have an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialised Clinical Physiologist (Neuro) - Band 7 - to join our team. Experience of working with a wide range of patients including children, people with learning difficulties and people with psychiatric disorders is essential and you will have excellent communication skills to achieve this. Computer literacy is essential.

The successful candidate would be expected to share responsibility for the day to day running of the department, to liaise with existing staff and other hospital staff and travel to other sites for off-site recordings as necessary. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and be willing to help with training sessions for trainee physiologists, medical students and other people interested in a career in Clinical Neurophysiology.

You should possess the ECNE Part 2, BSc Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) or equivalent. You should be RCCP registered and have a number of years post qualification experience.
