Administrative Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Co-ordinator

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 administrator to join our Blood and Marrow Transplant Team based in the Cancer and Haematology Centre at the Churchill Hospital.
The postholder will work with the BMT Specialist Nurses providing essential administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the BMT patient and sibling donor pathways.
Previous NHS experience is desirable but full training will be given.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, possess a high standard of professionalism with the ability to work effectively in time-pressured situations. As a key element of this post will be to liaise with patients, donors and clinicians, you will also need to possess excellent interpersonal skills.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the work of the BMT Nurse Specialists through:
- Facilitating the smooth running of the BMT patient pathway
- Supporting patients and donors through the process ensuring all investigations are carried out as planned
- Co-ordinating the Stem Cell Discard Programme
- Arranging follow up tests for sibling donors and ensuring test results are available for review by BMT nurses.
- Capturing BMT data
