Job summary

Pre-operative Assessment Specialist Nurse (Band 6) at the

Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated Pre-operative Assessment Specialist Nurse (Band 6) to join our team in leading and developing nursing within the Pre-operative Assessment Unit and Outpatient department. We are looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic, has high professional standards, maintains high standards of care for their patients and is passionate about patient safety. They must have already successfully completed or be willing to complete the Advanced History Taking and Assessment and Diagnostic Reasoning in Practice modules. The unit is undergoing an exciting period of change to change from a medical led unit into a nurse led unit therefore the person must be creative, positive, and proactive when dealing with change. This post involves undertaking detailed assessments of current health status and past medical history from patients within a busy clinic environment. The ability to converse, question and impart clear instructions pitched at the level of understanding of the patient is essential to this post.

This is a development opportunity that will allow individuals to work alongside and motivate a team who are striving to continually improve the quality of care and enhance the patient's experience. We are looking for full time but would consider part time hours if the hours required fit into the unit's present working pattern.
