Job summary

The post holder will use specialist theoretical knowledge and expertise to develop specific goal assessments for the hospitalised child. the post holder will support the development of the play team, offering teaching and supervision to all hospital staff in relation to their specialist area. As a senior play specialist the post holder will contribute to the management of the play team taking on delegated responsibilities when required.

This is a Band 5 post opportunity is to cover ENT/Plastics, Oral Maxilo facial Outpatients department.

The Band 5 roles will take on additional responsibilities and training to help with the day to day management and support of the Play Team manager. We are an already established and experienced play team who promotes the play service in the Children's Hospital and the Trust.

Do you have some expertise in this area ? Have a keen interest to learn new skills and the motivation to grasp opportunities. We need someone who is pro-active and will help to support the play team and the service.

You would be part of an experienced team, all working together, sharing expertise and benefiting from professional development opportunities. We are looking for someone who is committed, caring and compassionate to join this great team.

For this post we require:

  • The professional Diploma on Specialised Play for Sick Children and Young People or equivalent
  • You must be a registered Health Play Specialist with HPSET
  • At least 3 years post qualifying experience
