This is a split post where you will spend half of your time with the Pharmacy Paediatric Team and the other half with the Medicines Safety Team.
The post holder should participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings or out-patient clinics as appropriate in order to provide pharmaceutical advice to prescribers and other health care professional. They are expected to participate in clinical audit and the development and implementation of treatment protocols and guidelines for use of medicines within paediatrics, and to work with the rest of the members of the clinical pharmacy team to support the strategic developments of the service e.g. electronic prescribing, improved discharge processes, accredited technician checking etc.
As a key member of the Medicines Safety Team, involved in dynamic workstreams focused on optimising and improving the safe use of medicines throughout the trust. The role provides an opportunity to expand your expertise and skillset, to be involved in service development or improvement and to put your leadership skills into action in a supportive setting. The post holder should maintain high standards of pharmaceutical care, ensure timely, effective, communication with both the multi-disciplinary clinical teams and collaborators.

- Masters Degre (4 year MPHARM or equivalent) in Pharmacy
- Registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Post Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice and due to complete the diploma, or equivalent external credentialling via CPPE/ RPS
- Experience of direct patient care in more than one setting or clinical area
- Experience of working with other health care professionals
- Experience of communicating complex information via multiple methods to a variety of recipients.
- Experience of completing Quality improvement project, service evaluation or audit
- Experience of mentoring and training others in a healthcare setting
- Organised and able to manage own time.
- Evidence based, methodical approach
- Puzzle/Problem solver
- Autonomous with awareness of own limitations and knowing when to escalate
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Accountable and responsible for own decisions
