BAND 6 Deputy Ward Manager
Haematology Ward, Churchill Hospital, Oxford
We have a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Haematology nurse to take on the role of Deputy Ward Manager on the Haematology ward at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will assist the Ward Manager in providing clinical and managerial leadership on the ward. You will have an opportunity to gain insight into the Ward Manager role and be supported to develop the necessary skills and expertise to undertake the job.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for innovative nurses keen to develop their managerial skills and with the ability to problem solve, demonstrate leadership, and be motivated to support the Ward Manager in clinical audit and research as well as role modelling and supporting junior team members and students. Successful applicants should be in possession of, or working towards degree level education, and have experience in haematology/oncology. Specialist chemotherapy (SACT) training and experience is an essential pre-requisite.
We aim to provide a service tailored to the individuals needs as well as ensuring our staff are supported through regular clinical supervision, educational programmes and on-going professional development. The ward actively supports nurse-led activities and research, offering opportunities for professional and personal development. Funding is available for degree and masters modules within the specialty.
