Job summary
This is a valuable opportunity to apply analytical and technical skills to support the trust in delivering high quality patient care working within our dynamic Information Department at Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust.
This corporate role supports the delivery of routine and ad-hoc reporting on activity, waiting times & performance against operational measures. As well as running routine processes you will be responding to ad-hoc requests for information and contributing to project work, developing the reporting functionality from the trust's local data warehouse.
Interviews will be done remotely and there will be a technical assessment using MS Excel and MS SQL to be completed prior the interview. An assessment pack will be sent via email to the candidate prior the interview date. The interview will be about 2 hours in total where the assessment will be discussed as well as interview questions.

Main duties of the job
You will need to work closely with corporate teams within the trust and also develop excellent working relationships with operational services and others external to the Trust.
The team is structured with Band 4, Band 5 and Band 6 analysts within 2 teams, each with a Team Leader. This lends itself to a progressive department with many opportunities for career development.

A typical week will involve tasks such as producing routine reports from procedure notes, extracting data and information for ad hoc requests both internally and externally to the hospital, extracting information for Freedom of Information requests and helping to maintain and create ORBIT reports within Tableau. Many of the tasks require writing queries and troubleshooting existing queries using SQL and Access databases with many reports produced in Excel. Therefore you should have good analytical skills backed up with evidence of ability to work with databases. An understanding of the NHS datasets is desirable. The ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines is essential.
