Job summary

We are strengthening our clinical teams and recruiting GPs to roles that provide an innovative, flexible opportunity for a portfolio across GP Urgent Care. Successful applicants will work in the Urgent Care Centre - a GP led service located alongside the Emergency Department at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Main duties of the job

The UCC is open 10am-10pm seven days a week: there are two shifts- an early (10-1900/1800 on weekends), and a late (1400-2200) with a 1:6 weekend commitment. You will see patients presenting to the ED who are streamed to the UCC. We also see a small number of patients via a virtual service using video consultation software for some patients heralded by 111.

You will work alongside hospital specialists and GPs in an acute setting at the hospital-community interface. As well as broad clinical practice within supportive, dynamic teams, the posts include regular dedicated time for continuing professional development, study leave and hospital trust professional indemnity.

There is flexibility to agree attractive work patterns that meet your needs, matched to your current clinical strengths and provide further professional development opportunities. GPs must be willing to work some evenings and weekends to complement and expand our existing GP Urgent Care service.

We welcome applicants wishing to work full or part-time; and those wishing to combine their OUHFT commitment with other roles. Interested individuals are very much encouraged to visit and discuss the diverse opportunities that are available.
