As a Health Economist & Methodologist, you will have the opportunity to support ground-breaking real-world evaluations that focus on the clinical, economic, and societal impact of novel healthcare technologies, including digital health, AI, diagnostics, medtech, and pharmaceuticals.
The post holder will join the busy Health Economics team working with Health Innovation Oxford & Thames Valley's partners in the NHS, universities and life science partners taking forward a portfolio of projects aimed to support delivery of the organization's mission to both improve the health and prosperity of the region through health innovation, and to support economic growth in the life science sector.
Main duties of the job
Success in this role translates into the delivery of health innovation projects within the Strategic and Industry Partnerships Programme specifically around the real-world evaluation workstreams of the programme.The post-holder will be expected to support innovators and industry partners whose technologies, products and services could improve outcomes in the NHS. This support could take the shape of early customer discovery; early value assessment or through formal real world evaluation assessing pathway and service improvements; workforce and patient experience and most critically economic impact of implementation.
The successful post holder will have an economics background, be a good team player, be able to work flexibly and be willing to be proactive and use their initiative as a part of this busy team. The role will provide:
o Strategic Support: Assist innovators and industry partners in planning and designing evidence generation strategies for health economics and outcomes.o Collaborative Evaluation: Collaborate closely with innovators and industry partners to assess the impact of healthcare technologies.o Impact Assessment: Evaluate clinical and economic impacts to facilitate outcomes-based decision-making within the NHS.o Knowledge Transfer: Support NHS partners in comprehending the benefits, opportunities, and challenges related to the adoption of novel health technologies.

Main Functional Responsibilities include: To support the development of economic models to inform decisions on the efficient allocation of resources available to healthcare providers and communicating these insights to a variety of stakeholders.
Plan and undertake economic modelling to structure the evidence from the literature and other sources on clinical and economic outcomes to provide results that inform decisions about clinical practices and health-care resource allocations.
To assess evaluation scenarios and identify and apply appropriate analytical techniques and methodologies to deliver the desired outcome for the relevant audience.
To develop protocols that support specific projects across a variety of clinical, patient and care pathways.
Creation and maintenance of the project initiation documents and associated plans with meetings to monitor progress and resources.
Monitoring project progress and provision monthly reports against implementation plans.
Engage with full range of stakeholder organisations and individuals involved in delivery of care in the Oxford and Thames Valley region.
