Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen to work with the Oxford Radiology Research Unit (ORRU) within Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust as a Research Services Manager. We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Services Manager to coordinateresearch activities within our organisation that have a radiology component. This includes facilitating collaboration between departments and ensuring a quality service is provided to support over 300 research studies that use Radiology's services.
ORRU has a vital role in leading and facilitating clinical and scientific research and development in all aspects of cross-sectional imaging. We ensure quality and provision of clinical trial services is in accordance with all relevant legislation, regulations and guidelines.
ORRU has a special interest in the development and validation of AI/ informatics trials. We aim to create a future-orientated imaging department to realise the full potential of imaging data for early diagnosis, precision medicine and improved patient outcomes through development of novel biomarkers, minimally invasive techniques and informatics solutions.
The Research Services Manager is a critical role that will be based at the Churchill Hospital.You will be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills and must be able to demonstrate excellent teamwork, resilience and a real 'can do' attitude.
Main duties of the job
You should be familiar with research methodologies and data collection techniques as you will play a key role in delivering high quality support for research projects across OUHFT which are supported by the Radiology Research Unit. You will have strong project management skills and excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
Your main duties will be to manage the research project lifecycle, ensuring projects are set up efficiently, to a high quality, and delivered on time. As mentioned above, ORRU has a special interest in the development and validation of AI/ informatics trials. Knowledge or interest in this area is advantageous as you will be expected to liaise with and support researchers to develop their projects in this area.
You will oversee a team providing imaging and data services to a wide range of clinical research studies across all OUHFT sites. You will have knowledge of ethical considerations and regulations related to research and data collection. You will oversee the budgeting process for research projects, including cost estimation, resource allocation, and expenditure tracking. In addition, you will have excellent communication, administrative and IT skills and supportive of new initiatives that align with the Trust's research strategy.
