Job summary

Katharine House is an NHS hospice. Katharine House is run in partnership with Oxford University Hospitals Trust which manages the clinical team. The Hospice is specially designed to provide Palliative and End of Life Care for patients with advanced incurable disease along with their families. Our work is enhanced through the support of the Katharine House Hospice Charity. We provide specialist palliative and end-of-life care aiming to focus on quality of life and respecting the uniqueness of each person. We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with sound personal values and excellent communication skills. This role requires an enthusiastic, committed and professional approach to the smooth delivery of safe, high quality nursing care, ensuring the best patient and family experience. Candidates should be excellent team players with the ability to use their own judgement to resolve issues. They should also have well developed interpersonal skills and a sensitive approach to dealing with difficult and upsetting situations. They should be able to work well under pressure with a flexible approach to work, and a willingness to suggest ideas for improvements. Candidates will be able to demonstrate compassion, commitment and competence to deliver high standards of care within palliative care.

**Applicants must have already passed OSCE where required and have UK NMC registration and PIN**

Main duties of the job

Candidates should be excellent team players with the ability to use their own judgement to resolve issues. They should also have well developed interpersonal skills and a sensitive approach to dealing with difficult and upsetting situations. They should be able to work well under pressure with a flexible approach to work, and a willingness to suggest ideas for improvements.
