ANNUAL/ STUDY LEAVE ARRANGEMENTS: 5 weeks pro rata per annum

must be agreed with the person in charge of the
rota and Lead clinician
Main duties of the job
The ENT Department
The main ENT Department is in the West Wing at The John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. It provides emergency care and elective inpatient work for Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Day cases are treated in the West Wing, Churchill, The Horton and SMH and High Wycombe. It is also a regional tertiary referral centre for head and neck oncology, skull base surgery and neurology, paediatric ENT, specialist rhinology and otology including cochlear implants and bone anchored hearing aids. It is the hub of the Regional SpR Training Programme.
You will be expected to attend ward rounds, do the ward work and participate in holding the on call bleep. In addition you will the opportunity to sit in outpatient clinics and attend theatre if you wish. There is a regular teaching session run by the consultants and you will be expected to attend the weekly academic sessions, MDT and clinical governance.
The work of the Department is supported by a full range of support services including audiology, speech & language therapy, an aural care team, preclerking nurses, head & neck cancer nursing team, dieticians, paediatric tracheotomy nurse specialists etc.

also taught regularly on a Monday afternoon and have a full induction programme in

You will be expected to participate in the Monday afternoon meetings, which
include radiology MDT meetings, clinical governance and teaching. It is the FY2s
role to present the M and M data and you will be encouraged to complete an audit
project to present during your time with us.

- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
