Main duties of the job
The main ENT Department is located in the West Wing at The John Radcliffe Hospital,Oxford. It provides emergency care and wide range of general and sub-speciality electiveinpatient work for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire regions. Day surgery cases aretreated in the West Wing, Churchill head and neck unit, The Horton, Stoke MandevilleHospital and High Wycombe.The department prides itself on being a regional tertiary referral centre for head and neckoncology, skull base surgery and neurology, paediatric ENT, specialist rhinology and otology including cochlear implants and bone anchored hearing aids. It is the hub of theRegional SpR Training Programme. It is an extremely well supported department withample opportunity for learning and development and successful applicants will join a wellrespected and recognized department and team.

This post will be for 12 months from August 2023. The successful applicant will be expectedto be involved in the following: Create a regular program for education/teaching covering all levels of medical andallied health care staff. They will be responsible for providing regular teaching to rotating doctors andmonitoring their progress in routine and emergency ENT procedures. They will help to organize and deliver the medical student teaching in ENT Patient care: In addition to planning and delivering teaching sessions, the successfulcandidate will be expected to undertake regular outpatient clinical activitiesincluding but not limited to nasal fracture clinic, aural care clinics, emergency ENTclinic and otitis externa clinics. Theatres there will be opportunities to allow the fellow to attend regukar day caretheatre sessions.In addition, there will be opportunities to be involved in the following for educational andtraining purposes: Departmental teaching sessions Clinical Governance meetings Audit, Research and Quality ImprovementThere is plenty of support to participate in projects within the department.
