The care of emergencies, the care of patients on the wards, which may include private patients, appropriate to the grade of the post and under the direction of the responsible consultants.

Main duties of the job
The Blenheim Head and Neck Department is based at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford. It provides elective inpatient work for Head and Neck patients, mostly with malignant disease in Oxfordshire, Swindon and Buckinghamshire. The Blenheim Head and Neck Unit comprises ENT, Maxillofacial, plastic surgery and Endocrine surgery patients. The Unit comprises an Inpatient ward, and an adjacent outpatient facility, with pre-operative assessment and a seminar room. Day cases are treated in the Day surgery unit in the Churchill. It is also a regional tertiary referral centre for head and neck oncology and skull base surgery. It is the hub of the Regional SpR Training Programme.

You will be expected to attend ward rounds, do the ward work, and prepare the patients for the MDT and surgery. In addition, you will have the opportunity to sit in outpatient clinics and attend theatre if you wish. There is a regular teaching session run by the consultants and you will be expected to attend the MDT and clinical governance.

- Full registration GMC with license to practise.
- Must have worked in the NHS in the UK prior to this appointment.
- Capacity to operate effectively under pressure & remain objective in highly emotive/pressurised situations

- Attendance at relevant courses, e.g. ATLS
- Evidence of participation in risk management and/or clinical/laboratory research
