Information Management and Technology Services (IM&T Services) provide support to Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust users as well as to a number of other Health organisations across Oxfordshire. This involves supporting over 12,000 workstations and printers, circa 18,000 staff users of systems, and nearly 1100 servers (over 75% virtual). During 2021, IM&T Services responded to 150,000 calls and were involved in multiple projects

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, permanent

The post holder will be responsible for the management of the technical teams that provide the operational delivery of core IT infrastructure services and end user devices across the Trust, and where applicable other supported Healthcare organisations.

Main duties of the job

  • Working with the Head of IT and the Head of Service Assurance and Support the post holder will be responsible for overseeing the technical service delivery teams who will lead on implementation, support and maintenance of core infrastructure network or cloud based, services and technologies used within the Trust.
  • The post holder will contribute to service management, service delivery, strategic development and continuous service improvement that will ensure effective IT services focussed on clinical system provision that underpins excellent clinical care to our patients.
  • The post holder will have a focus on quality and appropriate system performance, using established and credible processes whilst ensuring alignment to industry trends to future proof Trust investments in infrastructure services. A key component of that quality will be ensuring a secure and robust cyber security posture supporting the Trusts statutory and regulatory requirements whilst having flexibility to support changing requirements as determined by key stakeholders in the Trusts Digital agenda.
  • The post holder will have responsibility for implementing ITIL practice across the team and establishing good working relationships with all other teams within IM&T Services to deliver the Trust's Digital programme and other critical applications to the local health community.
