Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

You will join a team of four interventional Neuroradiologists. The interventional service is supported by dedicated neuro-interventional nurses and radiographers. There is a dedicated subarachnoid haemorrhage specialist nurse practitioner in post. There are weekly neurovascular MDT meetings and neurovascular clinics. There is a dedicated Neurovascular Neurosurgeon supporting this workload. There is an increasingly busy Neurointerventional service managing most neurovascular disorders in adults and children, the latter in conjunction with Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The Neuroradiologists have access to day-case beds, intensive care and ward beds. There are 10 vascular GA lists per week. The interventional consultant of the day is responsible for the daily early morning neurosurgery review meeting. The job plan includes time for administrative duties; and there is a time "supplement" added to interventional lists to allow for direct patient care. The successful applicant will have as a minimum one angiography list per week with access to at least one GA list.

Main duties of the job

These clinical services refer directly to neuroradiology for an increasing number of clinical indications. All acute CT brain imaging in the JRH is the responsibility of the neuroradiology CSU. The department is recognized for high quality and standard of diagnostic imaging. Advanced neuroimaging including perfusion MRI, spectroscopy and DTI is available. We have active participation in numerous clinical activities as a result of regular MDTs.

The post holder's main duties will be supporting and developing the interventional service but also includes MRI and CT reporting of both supervised and unsupervised lists, and participating in the diagnostic on-call service.
