Job summary
This is a brand-new role within the TVW Paediatric Critical Care ODN to specifically support and further develop the existing Children's Long Term Ventilation Project. The post holder will be closely supported by the TVW PCC Lead Nurse and Lead Educator.
Operational Delivery Networks are designed to deliver a collaborative model of care to improve the experiences and outcomes for specific groups of patients based on regional and local need. They will focus on co-ordinating pathways of care and will work closely with patients, commissioners, providers, other stakeholders and clinical networks to ensure access to high quality equitable care.
Main duties of the job
The Thames Valley and Wessex Paediatric and TYA Operational Delivery Networks are hosted by OUH NHS Foundation Trust, and include speciality networks for Paediatric Critical Care, Surgery in Children, Children's/TYA Cancer and Paediatric Neurosciences.
The deputy lead nurse for Long Term Ventilation (LTV) Workstream and Education delivery will play a pivotal role in streamlining and aligning pathways for children and young people requiring LTV across the Thames Valley and Wessex (TVW) Paediatric and TYA Operational Delivery Network (ODN). The post holder will take a lead in co-ordinating key network LTV workstreams aligned with NCEPOD recommendations including (but not exclusive to):
- Initiation and Ethics
- Acute admission and Discharge Pathways
- MDT Education
- Data capture
The role is a 12-month fixed term contract due to funding arrangements. Part time hours will be considered.
