Job summary

The role of the Senior Support Technician - Community, includes routine servicing of a wide range of medical equipment and minor repairs. It is required that they plan and organise their own workloadand the workload of other Support Technicians and conduct the work without routine supervision. They will work on all UHDB sites with particular emphasis on Community locations, Strategic Shift Locations, CDC Locations and any other locations where Clinical Engineering have a maintenance responsibility

Main duties of the job

Plan and prioritise own workload in order of urgency.Plan and organise workload of other Support Technicians.

Organise access to internal and off site departments in multiple locations for medical equipment servicing and repairs.

Organise logistics over and between multiple UHDB sites and other sites where Clinical Engineering have a maintenance responsibility.

Assist in the maintenance and development of the medical equipment management database.

Assist in the production of service schedules and standard work instructions for equipment covered by the role, following manufacturer's guidelines.

Assist in the management of service and decontamination contract for pressure relief mattresses.

Accurately document all maintenance activity and update the equipment technical history record.

Receipt of new medical equipment and spares, dispatch of equipment to manufacturers.

Source and order spare parts to service a range of medical equipment.

Determine optimum stock levels of spares and ensure they are maintained.

Assist in the maintenance of the technical library and stores.

Liaise with clinical staff, outside company representatives and engineers during the process of purchasing or clinicallytrialling equipment.
