Pharmacy Senior Assistant Technical Officer

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our hardworking, friendly cancer Pharmacy Team. The post-holders will support the Pharmacy Cancer Team with the provision of chemotherapy and supplementary medicines to patients.

We are currently seeking a reliable and conscientious individual to fill our roles of Senior Pharmacy Assistant, this is a permanent role.

Your duties will be rotational between both the chemotherapy dispensary and aseptic services.

Successful candidates will be required to undertake Level 2 GPHC recognised qualification applicable to the job role. Full training and development will be given in order to fulfil specialist duties.

These posts will include working evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

These posts will also include cross site working between Royal Derby Hospital (RDH) and Queens Hospital Burton (QHB)

Main duties of the job

Dispensing of cytotoxic drugs and supportive medicines including clinical trail medication.

Provision of aseptically dispensed items including assembly of ingredients and consumables, sanitation of equipment and materials and the processing of products.

Participate in the cleaning schedule of clean rooms and support areas and equipment following defined standard operating procedures.

Undertake required assessment, validations and broth test as per departmental policy.
