Job summary
University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) is seeking to appoint a permanent consultant to work with a committed team in our ENT Department. The main base for this position will be Queens Hospital, Burton due to a weekday on call commitment at that site. However, timetabled activity will be split between UHDB sites
We are looking for someone who has thorough general specialty experience. The incumbent would be expected and encouraged to develop sub specialty interest to fit in with the needs of the department. An interest in Rhinology or laryngology would be particularly desirable.
Main duties of the job
A strong commitment from the appointee to the department and involvement with activities within the department such as audit, appraisal and assessment, clinical governance and development of guidelines is expected. The successful applicant will be expected to work as part of a team of consultants and will be required to contribute to the ongoing development of the ENT Department at UHDB.

- MBBS or equivalent
- Possession of FRCS (Oto-HNS) Postgraduate Qualification or equivalent
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice at date of application
- GMC Specialist Register for ENT or within 6 months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview OR if applying for Full GMC Registration & Licence to Practice simultaneously with a CESR application, supporting documentary evidence must be provided at interview to confirm an application has been submitted & is under consideration by the GMC.
