Job summary
The Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Team at Queens Hospital Burton is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant to work within their team.
This is a new exciting opportunity to be involved in both the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy pathways for the patient - treating holistically and being rewarded with positive patient outcomes. The post will support with the assessment and treatment of patients throughout the range of Orthopaedic wards which includes both elective and emergency pathways. This has the aim of maximising independence and physical function in adult patients following their acute admission.
Main duties of the job
The team is looking for a motivated, organised Therapy Assistant to support patient care in an in-patient environment. They must show the ability to be flexible within their working day and show initiative with their caseload, being mindful of the wider teams needs and workload. Proven team skills are essential for this role as the ability to work independently.
A desire to help people in their recovery and motivate them to reach their potential is a key part of this role also. Basic IT skills are desirable for administration duties.
Recent experience of working in an inpatient care setting and the moving and handling of adults is essential. Good interpersonal and communication skills are required along with the ability to motivate and encourage patients with physical needs.
The role involves working day shifts, lates and weekends (for which enhancements are payable).
