Job summary
The post holder will work alongside the TYA lead clinician & nurse, based at the Royal Derby Hospital, to establish close links within cancer services. As a local champion for TYA cancer care, they will be required to work as part of the wider regional TYA Service team based at the Principal Treatment Centre (Nottingham University Hospitals).
Our unit is committed to the care of young people going through a difficult time in their lives; we work very closely with Teenage Cancer Trust ensuring we treat the young person and not just the cancer.
A full and clean driving licence is required and a willingness to travel is essential

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to work autonomously and exercise a high level of clinical expertise when identifying and caring for the specific needs of TYA patients and their carers. You will need excellent interpersonal skills, senior nursing experience, knowledge of TYA cancers and the ability to work sensitively and collaboratively with diverse teams. By working alongside the TYA team and Site-Specific Teams you will promote a cohesive approach to developing TYA care within the region, in line with Peer Review Measures.
