Job summary

We are excited to offer an opportunity to join an experienced and dynamic team.

This is a unique opportunity to join the team at a band 6 level and help to lead this team through the ever changing dynamic that is surgery at present.

We are looking for an effective communicator, who can support the senior sister and existing band 6 team to lead this ward moving forward. Adapting to the changing environments and supporting the staff to continue to deliver the high standard of patient care that is currently in place on the ward.

Main duties of the job

In surgery team work is essential to ensure we offer a high quality service, with the aim of ensuring clinical outcomes are excellent, patients are safe and staff are skilled and productive. We aim to exceed the expectations of our patients and their families.

The ward is a 19 bedded inpatient ward.

As a band 6 you will also be supported to hold the surgical unit at times to support the wider surgical business unit.

The ward is an area that is used to change and as such this is a fast paced, dynamic ward that prides itself on looking after all surgical specialities. As part of this we have been focusing on team time outs days to continually educate and train all the staff to update them on all the knowledge base that they will need. The management team on the ward are expected to work closely with the Surgeons and Education team to achieve this.
