Job summary

An excellent career opportunity has arisen within our Medical Secretary team for an enthusiastic and committed individual as a Support Secretary in Ophthalmology at Queens Hospital Burton.

If you are looking for a career within the Medical Secretary department where you will be able to develop your skills and knowledge within the NHS, then this could be the right opportunity for you. In return we will offer full support and training of all required systems.

The role will cover a wide range of administration duties and will often be the first point of contact for general queries and enquiries from a range of individuals including internal trust colleagues, consultants and patients.

Main duties of the job

  • Typing and dispatching of clinical correspondence
  • Administrative support to the Medical Secretaries, management team and attending consultants
  • Answering the telephone and dealing with the query efficiently
  • Liaising with other departments and also external parties when needed
  • Maintaining the filing systems both electronically and pap
