Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 2 Clerical Assistant/Booking Clerk, to join our Audiology Administration Team. We provide services in multiple sites across Southern Derbyshire. This post will require working between the Royal Derby Hospital and the Florence Nightingale Community Hospital in Derby.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you must be enthusiastic, possess excellent interpersonal, organisation and communication skills, demonstrate a clear telephone manner and be highly motivated.

Essential qualities needed are strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask, and support other members of the team when required to do so.

Applicants should demonstrate previous experience of working within a customer/patient orientated environment and should have experience using IT systems.

Main duties of the job

Following a period of training, you will be expected to input data through our Lorenzo and Auditbase (Audiology patient management) IT systems.

Your main duties will include booking/rearranging patient appointments by telephone/email/text, inputting data, posting out accessories, booking in ear moulds from the laboratory and general administrative duties.

It is desirable that you have previous experience of working with the general public ideally within a healthcare environment and also dealing with high volumes of calls on daily basis.

The post holder is required to provide clerical support ensuring that theprofessional and caring image of the department is maintained at all times. The post will involve patient contact via telephone/email/text and occasionally face2face and a range of clerical duties intended to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the departmental systems.

This post is 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday) and may be either full time, part time or job share.
