Job summary
An exciting varied opportunity has arisen within Specialist Medicine Business Unit 2, at Queen's Hospital Burton, for a person looking for development into the role of Diabetes & Endocrinology Support Medical Secretary.
You will need to be an enthusiastic and motivated team player with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will also have the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively and have a willingness to learn.
The hours of work is between Monday to Friday 22.5hrs per week where you will join our friendly Team based within our Diabetes Centre. Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will develop/have a broad range of administrative skills and in particular:
- Typing ability or qualification/experience - audio typing training available
- Standard level of IT literacy
- NVQ level II Customer Service or equivalent knowledge and skills
- Knowledge and understanding of a range of secretarial or administrative procedures
- Good communication & relationship skills are essential both face to face and via telephone
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Digital Dictation and Lorenzo would be advantageous, although training will be provided.
