Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for the general day to day operational functions of Pharmacy Stores, including providing a high quality and efficient pharmacy distribution and goods in service. The post holder will support the smooth running of the Pharmacy stores for staff and other Trust employees.
Participate in the receipt of all goods delivered to Pharmacy stores. This will involve checking goods received against delivery documents, making a record of quantity received, batch numbers and expiry dates on the paper delivery note and recording the details on to the pharmacy computer system.
Participate in the topping-up service to wards and departments at QHB or RDH/ FNCH, liaising with Divisional Pharmacists and Ward Managers as required regarding stock lists. This will include the regular expiry date checking of items stored at ward level and the removal and return of items that have expired
Main duties of the job
Participate in the adhoc supply of stock items to wards and departments, this will include checking stock status, stock levels and alerting Divisional Pharmacists of any requests for abusable drugs that are outside of the agreed stock levels
Participate in the supply and distribution of pharmaceuticals to wards and departments by preparing ward stock orders and dispensing items from stock lists
Participate in out of hours, weekend and Bank Holiday work in accordance with departmental rotas
To be conversant with the use of the pharmacy computer system
