Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a flexible and motivated individual to join the Acute Medicine Business Unit as a Medical Secretary.
We are looking for an efficient, motivated and competent secretary to provide full secretarial and administrative support to the Team.
Working in a challenging and constantly changing environment, you will need to have excellent administrative, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to possess the ability to multitask at a high level, pay close attention to detail and work on your own initiative. You will need to be able to demonstrate the skills required to manage the workload in a proactive and effective manner.
Derby Acute Medicine Business Unit incorporates the dynamic and specialised areas of the Emergency Department, Acute Medical Assessment Unit, Short Stay and Same Day Emergency Care.
Main duties of the job
To organise and minute internal and external meetings/case conferences.
Arrange hospitality, Travel and audio visual equipment, venue and anyrequirements as appropriate using online booking systems. Use of Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings.
Communicate with all members of the multi-disciplinary team including GPs, Nurses, managers and other medical staff.
To Audio type and distribute on-call rotas ensuring deadlines are met. To advise all relevant personnel of any rota changes by use of the Rotawatch system when required sometimes at short notice.
To work as part of a team, covering or other Consultants' secretaries when required due to sickness or leave.
