Job summary

Lead multiple digital projects and managing a team of Band 6 and Band 5 project managers/co ordinators.

Directly reportable to Digital Programme Manager

Main duties of the job

The post holder will effectively manage the delivery of multiple, concurrent projects from initial conception and planning to implementation and subsequent monitoring, while ensuring that best practice project management principles and techniques are adopted throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

Producing accurate and well-structured project documentation (incl. Project Brief, Project Initiation Document, Project Plans, End Stage Reports etc.) in line with PRINCE2.

  • Educated to degree level plus project/programme management or equivalent
  • Advanced level of IT Literacy with experience of using a range of IT applications
  • Certificate or qualification in presenting

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience, specialist working knowledge of project / programme management and improvement methodologies and the ability to apply them in clinical settings, working with different staff groups at all levels within the organisation.
  • Experience of change management within a health care setting
  • Has an understanding of the current health care Agenda
  • Knowledge of NHS Challenges, opportunities, National and Local drivers

Skills

  • Ability to assist in training staff in the use of Project management and service improvement methodologies
  • Ability to provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious info and ideas
  • Communicate effectively demonstrating confidence and resilience when dealing with individuals and large groups
  • Ability to communicate complex messages, which are open to interpretation and not always straightforward
