Main duties of the job
Provide appropriate medicine prescribing and monitoring advice to members of the MDT. Opportunity to attend ward rounds in Renal Medicine and on the medical wards.
Be part of a collaborative MDT by working with nurses, doctors, advanced clinical practitioners, dietitians, physiotherapists etc.
The opportunity to participate in outpatient and assessment clinics within our Renal Medicine service.
Active involvement in the development and review of policies and procedures within Renal and across the wider Specialist Medicine Business units. Assist our Advanced Pharmacists to manage the introduction of new drugs and treatment guidelines into the division.
Deliver educational and mentoring sessions to junior pharmacists, doctors, nurses and trainee pharmacists.
Opportunities for participation in audit and quality improvement projects in Pharmacy and across Renal and Specialist Medicine areas.
If not already achieved or working towards IP, you will be given the opportunity to undertake an independent prescribing course. This is funded by the Trust, and you will be supported to attend study days and complete prescribing practice hours.
Based at Royal Derby Hospital.
